One of my favourite octopuses, the mighty Mimic (Thaumoctopus mimicus). The mimic octopus lives in tropical Indo-Pacific waters, such as Lembeh and Ambon, and is reputed to mimic up to 15 species of local marine organisms. When I finally saw it in 2019, I was able to observe the mimicry of two different kinds of flounders that live in the same region. A truly magnificent animal, and sadly, sightings are quite rare these days because they often get disturbed by scuba divers which has negative impact on their reproduction.
