The largest of all damselfish, the Garibaldi (Hypsypops rubicundus), lives in the kelp forests of the eastern pacific. It reaches a size of 38 cm when adult. Like other damselfish, it will show a territorial behavior when its eggs are being approached. I’ve seen a lot of those around Cedros, Baja California.
