In addition to the more common and daily seen grey, whitetip and blacktip reef sharks, Raja Ampat offers good quality sightings of rare shark species: The Tasseled Wobbegong shark (Eucrossorhinos dasypogon) for example, who’s all over the place in the Dampier Strait. Or the endemic and just recently identified Epaulette shark (Hemiscyllium halmahera), a shark that is actually walking.
