Pteroidichthys amboinensis, also known as the Ambon scorpionfish, is native mostly to the Indian and Pacific oceans. It’s got its name from Pulau Ambon, an island in the Maluku province of Indonesia. When threatened, it can defend itself with poisonous spikes.
